The Skinny: Top 5 Conumer Psych Reads

Happy Sunday everyone! This past week I was thinking about some of my favorite classes during undergrad and my Consumer Psychology class really stuck out. One thing I loved about it were all the fascinating articles that accompanied our lectures. Check out some of my favorites below!

  1. The One Number You Need to Grow This article talks about the one item in customer satisifaction surveys that is a true indicator of future growth for any company. It takes a very systematic approach to analyzing the different barometers that companies use to determine customer satisfaction.

  2. Do Rewards Really Create Loyalty? This article discusses the various reward programs that cropped up about 10 years ago and whether or not those programs create loyalty in the true sense of the word.

  3. In India, Retailer Finds Key to Success is Clutter Interesting take on how the design of marketing spaces can influence how successful a retail company is in moving its merchandise. The layout of the store has be strategic and consider the natural "flow" of how customers will approach shopping.

  4. The Return of the Hidden Persuaders This article describes how companies use guerilla advertising agents who are considered "special" in their ability to disseminate information and hype products. Before, it was thought that only certain people were qualified to be "persuaders," however nowadays it seems that anyone can be a hidden persuader.

  5. Cheap Razor Made After P&G Watches Indians Shave Really great piece about how different audiences require different marketing strategies. It breaks down the workflow that goes into designing a successful product for a specific market audience.

Hopefully one of these articles sparks your interest! This past weekend a childhood friend of mine was visiting fromrusc California and it was the first time she's ever been on the East Coast! We went to Burger Tap & Shake in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood and went on a segway tour along the National Mall. We went to il Canale for dinner last night and it was fantastic! I had the bruschetta & spaghetti pomodoro, both of which were fantastic! My friend had some seafood pasta and she said it was also amazing. I'll be all over the place this weekend trying to pull together my last Friendsgiving, but until then enjoy these pictures of delicious food!
