I should clarify the title by saying these are my favorite NPR articles from the past two weeks! I had a bunch of things saved to my Pocket list and only recently had the chance to read through everything. US High School Graduation Rate Hits Record High This article tries to pick apart disparate data that, while graduation rates are at an all-time high in America, students are performing slightly worse on the SAT and underperforming when compared against their international peers. The journalist really digs into the (not-always-sound) statistical methods that some states and school districts use to boost their graduation rates.
